Scheduled events¶
Create events on the dashboard and publish them to your Discord server's calendar, your VRChat group's calendar, or both. LogDog supports one-off events and recurring series.
Requirements¶
| Requirement | Details |
|---|---|
| Your access | Administrator to create or edit; Manage Server or higher to view. |
| LogDog in Discord | Create Events to publish Discord events, plus access to a voice channel if selected as the location. |
| LogDog in VRChat | View Audit Log for the connected group; Manage Calendar to publish VRChat events. |
| Plan | One-off events are free. Recurring-series and history limits are listed below. |
Check Diagnostics for missing permissions. Grant Discord Create Events to LogDog's role and VRChat Manage Calendar to its assigned group role for the platforms you use.
Calendar management is on the dashboard. The Discord /events command controls
audit-log delivery, not scheduled events.
Creating an event¶
- Open app.logdog.gg, select your server, then open Events.
- Select New event, or select a future day on the calendar.
- Enter the title, description, start date and time, duration, and time zone.
- Choose a one-off event or a daily, weekly, or monthly repeat with an end date.
- Enable the platforms you want, fill in their settings, and save.
The editor also offers:
| Setting | Details |
|---|---|
| Cover image URL | Used on Discord. VRChat uses the group's banner. |
| Discord event | Choose a voice channel or Somewhere else with a location. |
| VRChat event | Choose category, visibility, and whether to notify members. The default notifies for the first date of a series only. |
| Playlist for event worlds | Choose a playlist for advance world suggestions. |
The calendar and upcoming list show each event's status on each platform.
How syncing works¶
LogDog publishes dates about four weeks ahead, within platform limits. Dates farther away stay Scheduled until they enter that window. This lets recurring series publish a few upcoming dates at a time.
Discord changes usually appear within seconds; VRChat changes can take a few minutes. The event page shows Synced, Slow, Checking, or Failed, with details when available. Checking means a VRChat create got no reply, and LogDog is making sure the event did not land before posting it again, so nothing is posted twice. LogDog retries failed work, but missing permissions still need an administrator to fix them.
VRChat's calendar limit is 100 events per group per month, including events made directly in VRChat. LogDog warns as usage approaches the cap and holds additional dates when it is reached. Premium does not remove platform limits.
Native events show up too¶
Events created directly in Discord or VRChat appear on the dashboard after a periodic check, normally about every 15 minutes. They carry a Discord or VRChat label and open as read-only summaries.
LogDog does not mirror or edit these imported events. Change them on the platform where they were created. Deleted or ended imported events disappear after the next check. Events created in LogDog appear once, as editable LogDog events.
Editing and moving events¶
Edit an event on its dashboard page. Title, description, image, and platform-setting changes update posted copies in place.
Changing the start date or time removes the old posted copy and creates another. Discord members must mark themselves Interested again on the new copy. Creating a replacement in VRChat also counts toward its monthly limit.
Deleting a LogDog-created copy directly in Discord or VRChat is treated as a cancellation and causes LogDog to remove the other platform's copy. Direct edits on either platform do not sync back to LogDog. Make routine changes on the dashboard.
Past events¶
The Past tab lists completed LogDog-scheduled dates, newest first, including cancelled dates. Each can link to its turnout page.
Player counts are recorded shortly after the event ends. Counting means processing is pending; a dash means no group instance was recorded for the event; approx means some readings counted group members only. Recorded summary counts remain available after the detailed occupancy samples expire.
Free servers can view the last 90 days. Premium reveals all retained event history, including older dates recorded before the upgrade. The calendar also looks back 60 days. Imported Discord and VRChat events are not kept on the Past tab after they end, though recent turnout can still appear in instance statistics.
Free and Premium limits¶
| Feature | Free | Premium |
|---|---|---|
| One-off events | Unlimited, any date | Unlimited, any date |
| Active recurring series | 3 | Unlimited |
| Recurring-series scheduling | Up to 3 months ahead | Up to 1 year ahead |
| Past events | Last 90 days | All retained history |
A week before a series ends, LogDog sends a reminder through the notification bell and a channel message. Extend the series on the dashboard if it should continue. Ended series do not count toward the active-series limit.
Templates¶
Choose Save as template in the editor to save reusable settings, up to 10 templates per server. Reuse one through Templates or Start from template. Editing or deleting a template does not change existing events.
Cancelling and ending¶
- Cancel a single date from the event page to remove its posted copies while keeping the rest of the series.
- End a series in the event page's danger zone to remove remaining posted copies and stop future dates.
If you change your VRChat group¶
Disconnecting pauses scheduled events. Connecting a different group keeps them paused until you choose Resume or End on the Events page. Reconnecting the same group resumes them automatically. See Disconnecting a group.
