Event pings¶
Have a delivered audit-log event mention moderator roles or the linked person who
performed the action. Configure pings in Log Routing on the dashboard, or use
/notify in Discord.
For setup alerts and other operational messages, see Service notifications.
Requirements¶
| Requirement | Details |
|---|---|
| Your access | Administrator to configure; Manage Server or higher to view dashboard settings. |
| LogDog in Discord | Permission to post the event. For role notifications, the role must be mentionable or LogDog needs Mention @everyone, @here, and All Roles in that channel. |
| LogDog in VRChat | View Audit Log. |
| Plan | Free. |
See the permissions matrix. Actor pings also need account linking enabled and an eligible link for that person.
Set up on the dashboard¶
- Open your server's Log Routing page.
- Select Pings on the event you want, such as Group User Ban.
- Choose up to five roles.
- Optionally enable Ping the actor's linked Discord account.
Pings appear above the embed in the event's destination channel. They are sent when LogDog delivers the event, which can be several minutes after the action in VRChat.
Set up in Discord¶
Run /notify add, select the event, and choose the roles:
Use /notify actor to include the person who performed the action:
Manage your pings¶
/notify listlists the events and roles configured for pings./notify removeremoves a role from an event's pings./notify actorwithenabled: Falseturns off actor pings for an event.
The dashboard and Discord commands edit the same settings.
When the actor is not mentioned¶
If linking is off, or LogDog cannot resolve an eligible Discord link, it mentions only the roles you selected. If no roles are selected, there is no mention.
Actions performed through LogDog do not send the acting moderator a redundant actor ping. For actions performed directly in VRChat, the linked moderator can be mentioned.
Troubleshooting¶
A role name appearing in a message does not guarantee a notification. Make the role mentionable in Server Settings → Roles, or grant LogDog mention permission in the destination channel. Members' own Discord notification settings also apply.
Check that the event is enabled and routed: a disabled event cannot send a ping. Change its destination with Log routing.
