Set up on the dashboard¶
- Open Settings → Widgets → Open-instances panel.
- Select the channel where the message should appear.
- Enable Post a live list of open instances.
- Choose whether to Show a join link for each instance.
Set up in Discord¶
Run /config → Open Instances, choose the text channel, and select Enable.
Both interfaces configure the same panel.
What it looks like¶
Each listed instance shows its world, latest player count, capacity, group-member count when available, region, access type, and optional Open in VRChat link. The link opens VRChat's launch page; the viewer still needs access to join the instance.
For example, 17/32 · 7 members · US · Group Public means the latest reading counted 17 players out of a capacity of 32, including 7 group members. Some readings can only count group members, so a displayed count may be lower than the total attendance.
The panel lists up to 10 instances, busiest first, with a count of any additional open instances. It shows No open instances right now when none are visible to LogDog.
How it updates¶
LogDog checks periodically and edits the message when the listed instances or counts change. Allow a few minutes for changes to appear. A deleted panel is reposted automatically while the feature is enabled.
Join links¶
Turn off Join links in Discord or the dashboard's join-link switch to hide the links while retaining instance details and counts.
Customize the panel (Premium)¶
Use Panel branding under Widgets on the dashboard and select Save panel branding, or select Customize in the Discord panel, to change the title and image.
Turn it off¶
Disable the feature in either interface. LogDog removes the panel message and stops updating it. Re-enabling posts a new message.
Troubleshooting¶
If the panel is missing, check its Discord channel permissions. If instances are missing, check the account's VRChat instance access in Diagnostics. The panel can show only instances visible to that account.
See Instance notices for individual opening announcements, or Instance activity & turnout for recorded history.
