Member count channel

Show your VRChat group's member count in a Discord voice-channel name, such as VRC Members: 1,234. Configure it on the dashboard under Settings → Widgets → Member-count channel, or with /config → Member Count.

Requirements

Requirement Details
Your access Administrator to configure; Manage Server or higher to view settings.
LogDog in Discord Manage Channels, including permission to rename the selected voice channel.
LogDog in VRChat No extra permission beyond the connected group's View Audit Log.
Plan The counter is free. A custom name template requires Premium.

See the permissions matrix.

Set up on the dashboard

  1. Create a voice channel in Discord, or choose one you already use for the counter.
  2. Set its permissions so members can see it but cannot connect, if you want it to act only as a label.
  3. Open Settings → Widgets → Member-count channel.
  4. Select the channel and enable Show the group's member count.

To have LogDog create a channel for you, use the Discord steps below.

Set up in Discord

Run /config → Member Count and select Create channel. LogDog creates a voice channel with member connections disabled and enables the counter. Discord administrators can bypass channel restrictions.

Alternatively, select an existing voice channel and choose Enable. Its existing visibility and connection permissions remain your responsibility.

What to expect

The name updates after LogDog's next check. The group's count is refreshed roughly every 15 minutes; LogDog renames the channel only when the displayed value changes. This is the VRChat group count, not the Discord server's member count.

Customize the name (Premium)

In the Discord Member Count panel, select Customize and enter a template such as 👥 {count} members or Galaxy Fam · {count}. Keep {count} where the number should appear. Free servers use VRC Members: {count}.

Change or remove it

  • Disable stops updates and leaves the channel in place.
  • Removing or moving a counter that LogDog created deletes its old channel after confirmation. A channel you supplied is unlinked and left in place.
  • Only one counter channel can be configured at a time.

Troubleshooting

Check Manage Channels on the bot's role and on the chosen channel. If the counter stops after disconnecting your group, reconnect and explicitly enable it again. See Configuration guide.
